PROFESSIONAL TAX CONSULTANT:
The Gelber Organization (TGO) seeks professional tax consultants to perform independent sales & use tax audits for our clients throughout the United States, with a primary focus in the mid-Atlantic Region. Candidates will use up-to-date techniques to review, analyze, and determine taxpayer compliance. The position is located in our Edison, NJ office. No relocation costs provided.
Minimum requirements include the ability to interpret and apply state & local tax laws, rules, and regulations; working knowledge of accounting principles; ability to comprehend and write complex reports; analyze accounting records; use sound judgement and document legally supportable conclusions. Must be able to proficiently use a computer to communicate electronic data and utilize spreadsheets, databases and word processing. A proven demonstrated ability to work independently. Prefer a bachelor's degree (with 12 semester hours of accounting coursework) and audit experience in a tax environment relating to Sales & Use Tax or Corporate Income Tax. Occasional overnight travel and a valid driver's license required. Successful candidates will exhibit good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with diverse groups of people.

SALES PROFESSIONAL:
THE GELBER ORGANIZATION (TGO) has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned sales professional that will be responsible for sales focused on leads and cold calling to generate proposals for services. The successful candidate would be expected (but not required) to bring a significant contact list with primary contacts being CEO, CFO, VP of Tax, and Controllers. Ideal candidates would have experience selling for professional services firms (CPA firms, law firms, outsourcing firms, etc.).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prospecting, creating, and maintaining relationships with key decision makers with a high concentration in the Mid-Atlantic Region and across the country to generate sales of State & Local Tax Consulting Services to the marketplace. Will be working with TGO's internal marketing structure to promote the growth of TGO's presence in the marketplace. Developing TGO's presence in the marketplace as a top provider of State & Local Tax Consulting Services. Direct sales activities including relationship building, prospecting, cold calling, follow up to direct mail campaigns, responses to web inquiries, and engaging business through follow up of leads generated through phone contact and relationship building efforts of inside staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field. Must have a good understanding of the marketplace, especially middle to upper market sized organizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote and sell TGO's services. Use of solution selling concepts when interacting with prospects, formulating solutions and creating proposals. Demonstrated strong commitment to prospecting, cold calling, and follow through to bring about desired sales results. Strong organizational and client management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to interact with all levels of professionals, both internally and in the marketplace. Business acumen; ability to understand and communicate products/services to the marketplace. 3+ years of professional services business development experience. Prior experience with customer relationship database. Selling skills. Internet skills essential Preferred Skills: 5 years sales of intangibles, solutions, or consulting services to organizations.
