Joins The Gelber Organization
Edison, NJ... Arthur Gelber, President of The Gelber Organization, has recently announced the recruitment of Bernie Crowley, former acting commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, as a senior member of The Gelber Organization's tax consulting team.
"With over 35 years of executive and technical experience in state tax administration, Bernie brings a unique and historic perspective to our efforts in providing clients with sound advice and professional service in tax planning and audit defense strategies," says Mr. Gelber.
Prior to joining The Gelber Organization, Crowley, a 37-year career Massachusetts Department of Revenue employee, has held a increasingly important technical and management positions, culminating with his appointment to the leadership position of Acting Commissioner. Crowley has served as Senior Deputy Commissioner responsible for day-to-day operations of the department and as Deputy Commissioner-Audit Division, directing and controlling all tax enforcement activities and programs.
In his new role, Crowley will assist multi-state clients in their efforts to comply with a myriad of competing and complex state tax laws. His responsibilities will include client advisory and field reviews, tax planning and nexus projects, relations with staff, vendors and the various States.
Mr. Crowley has had a long association with the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and the Associated Industries of Massachusetts.
